I've tried to write this three times already and lost it every time, so this time, I'm hoping I can hang on to it long enough to post it...It's been an interesting couple of weeks.

My daughter, Jenni, and granndaughter, Kara, came up from Indiana for Elysha's graduation, which was the 24th of June. Graduation was very nice, although very crowded. Kara and I sat with Elysha's boyfriend, Robbie. We lost Steven and his mother and we let Jenni park the car since we could not park in the school area...Grandma Pearlman had chutzpahed her way into the parking lot with her handicapped parking pass. Jenni had to park a couple of blocks away- it wasn't too bad getting back to the car since it was downhill. She said it was awful going up....

The valedictorian and salutorian were pretty brief and entertaining, the student council president and senior class president were boring and stupid and the Board of Education guy was just dumb. The principal kept his remarks fairly brief, and the diplomas went quick. Elysha was near the top of the bleachers, so she was near the end, even though they didn't give them out alphabetically....Got lots of pictures, although she's not visible in most of them - too far off. They had refreshments afterwards and we were the closest - so we got the pick of them! Some great creme puffs - from an Italian bakery, I'm sure! The girls headed off to the shore - Point Pleasant - and dropped Robbie off on the way (at least I hope so). Anyway, we had a good time.

Since then we have done adventuring at Toys 'R Us for Camp Geoffrey; gone to Verona Park for the playground; went to Bennigan's State Fair for the rides and the games; went to Mountain Creek Water Park for the water slides and pools; and went to the local town fireworks which were last night - and freaked both Jenni and Kara out. Kara says she has "sensitive ears". The fireworks were pretty impressive - we haven't been to see them up close in a long time - my DH used to be an early-to-bed type - like 8:30....

So the girls go back to Indiana on Tuesday, so we'll have a busy weekend then things will be very dull...For which I will thank goodness for a while till I begin to miss them!
