Post- birthday thoughts

Well, I'm older now than then... And I thought that was a quote from a song somewhere, but I searched and the closest came to that was "Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" by Bob Dylan, back when he was younger then, too....
I did come across a lot of great quotes about age (and getting older) at The Quote Garden.
Here are some of my favorites :
Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. ~Mark Twain
I was wrong to grow older. Pity. I was so happy as a child. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Flight to Arras, 1942, translated from French by Lewis Galantière
The years between fifty and seventy are the hardest. You are always being asked to do more, and you are not yet decrepit enough to turn them down. ~T.S. Eliot, quoted in Time, 23 October 1950
You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely. ~Author Unknown
You can live to be a hundred if you give up all things that make you want to live to be a hundred. ~Fred Allen
True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country. ~Kurt Vonnegut
I don't know how you feel about old age... but in my case I didn't even see it coming. It hit me from the rear. ~Phyllis Diller
And of course, this one, that reminnds us that life is short :
In dog years, I'm dead. ~Author Unknown - not sure if the author is really "unknown", or just unwilling to acknowledge coming up with this great wisdom...
At any rate, I am older, possibly wiser and, upon thinking about it, a hell of a lot different that when I was say, 18. And for that, Lord, I am truly grateful.
