Boring. Dang... But a bank robber, living here in Verona was captured according to today's Star- Ledger. Not online, but in the paper edition. Guess he has friends that keep the information just in the paper edition...

However, this , from Barista.net:

We've just received confirmation from Captain Vanderstreet of the Cedar Grove Police Department that a man suspected of robbing the TD Bank North at 85 Pompton Avenue was apprehended and arrested on Highland Avenue. The robbery took place at approximately 10:55 am today. The suspect, Frank Meletti, 42, of Verona, entered the bank exhibiting a handgun, then handed a bank teller a note demanding an unspecified amount of money.
The teller gave the suspect the cash, and he exited heading into a wooded area behind the bank. The FBI, County Prosecutor's Office, Cedar Grove, Verona, North Caldwell and Montclair Police were called to assist.
Essex K-9 units were sent to the wooded area, trailing the suspect to Highland Avenue, where a Cedar Grove officer spotted the fugitive and chased him on foot. The suspect was apprehended with the assistance of the Montclair PD, within approximately 45 minutes of the robbery. He is now in the custody of the FBI. The money was recovered, although the amount is not known.

And Verona is supposedly rated as #3 in the state, of towns to live in. Nearby Cedar Grove, mentioned above, was rated #17. We have had murderers, bomb makers and now, bank robbers... Guess that's what makes the good ratings , eh?
