I found this story Space-time for Springers via someone's blog (apologies to whoever posted it - I have way too many "senior moments" lately). I am not a "cat person", but this story, which features a growing-up kitten's thoughts and philosophies was as interesting a science-fiction story as I've ever read. It was first published in 1958, when I was just a kitten myself. Please read it, it's a sweet and slightly scary story that I think you'll like.
