Reading about how budget cutbacks have taken away state funding for improvements on schools, in the Star-Ledger, the story just happened to be above one about nearby Montclair High School's football field getting artificial turf to replace the real grass that often "turned to mud". Once again, priorities, people!!! Of the improvements to the schools in my town, a lot are for cafeterias and "offices". A couple of new classrooms, but the faculty and office workers must be appeased first, I'll bet. And the total? A little over $35,000,000! This is a town maybe two square miles with a little over 15,000 people. However, I should add that the average income for these people is slightly over $75,000. But we voted the school budget down, which is supposed to tell the school board something... I think the money should go mostly into repairing what they haven't for years and learning to make do with what they have. Thirty-five million dollars!!!! Sigh....
