I've forgotten the past couple of days. Jenni hit me up for money- both days, I think, but said yesterday she got a job at FedEx and will be getting past unemployment.
I got things out of the closets in what was Steven's room before he moved back downstairs (since he started loading stuff back into that room). I got out my stories. I read them yesterday and they were by turns funny, sad, and odd as hell. The ones that were almost religious tracts  were the oddest. In the Monkees stories, especially, I cried a lot. So much so that even I realized it and called one of the stories Teardrop. I have a binder full of stories, poems, etc. by me and others - Leroy Cox, for one. I searched for him online and found his obituary. I'm sad that I didn't know about it at the time. I'm surprised he was Catholic, since he must have been divorced. He married Betty Adams once he got out of high school by a couple of years.

COX, HUBERT LEROY, 60, passed away October 30, 2011.

He was a retired office manager for Ramsey and Associates and a native of Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma; one daughter, Dianna Michelle Hartlage (Craig); three sons, Lelin Anthony Cox, Patrick Stephen Cox (Kristy), Bryce Joseph Cox; his mother, Anna Cox; three sisters, Judy Koehlinger (Denny), Monica Smith (Homer), Mary Robbins; one brother, Larry Cox; and five grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. CST Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Axtel, KY, with burial in Church Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at W. G. Hardy Funeral Home.

The reason I knew it was him is this entry in the guest book- Pat Weiger was his best friend in his senior year of high school, when I knew him and Pat:

Thelma and family, our family is truly sorry to hear this news. If you need anything please do not hesitate to contact any of us. Pat is in Florida, and could not attend, but sends his deepest sympathies.
I read a story Leroy had written for me - a sci-fi/horror story. It started off well. I could make out the words and it all ran together well. when I got near the end of the story, the pages didn't follow each other and it was increasingly harder to read the writing. It is going to take another reading. Maybe I'll transcribe it. There were some poems in there, too. Some by Robert (that's sort of creepy), one or two from Leroy, one by Wayne Carroll, one from a boy I met in church (that's kind of creepy, too), and several "witnessing" religious stories that are really creepy. I read the Monkees series I wrote from 8th grade until I was 20. They were very strange. I didn't think it at all odd that a 22 year old star would be in love with little old, 15 year old, me. And wedding plans. Hell, I'd have had to have my father's literal permission to marry Davy. Whom I miss terribly. I think I'll read some of those stories again soon. 😜
