We got home last night at 11:30 pm. The movie, The Flash, was good! When they did a collage of heroes from many alternate timelines, we saw the Adam West Batman, Chris Reeve and George Reeves as Superman - and Nicholas Cage as a Superman (Tim Burton’s Superman Lives starring Nicolas Cage never got made), Helen Slater as Supergirl, and at the end, Bruce Wayne's limo shows up and George Clooney's Bruce Wayne gets out. Barry Allen is astonished - so was I! Micheal Keaton's Batman was a big part of the movie - Steve said it was really his movie. Ben Affleck's Batman was in the beginning and Gal Godot as Wonder Women popped up in the first of the movie, to help with a disaster! At the end was a drunk Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), who Barry Allen was helping along.
Ezra Miller was a good, goofy Flash in both timelines (even though Ezra himself has proven to be more of a bad guy in real life). Barry's father (like in the TV show, but not the comics as far as I remember) was accused of killing his wife. The man who played Henry Allen looked familiar and I didn't recognize him until the end when his innocence was proved. He was Jon Dixon in A Million Little Things! The Easter eggs in this movie made the whole thing worth it!
The band at the Wellmont was nothing like what we had expected from the band's name - Jimmy Kenny and The Pirate Beach Band. We'd expected a Jimmy Buffett cover band. Instead, it was a mix of loud, not understandable, country, rock and roll and some Jimmy Buffett and one John Denver song. We left as the last song was being played - Country Roads- so I don't know if they did any encores or not. They're lucky we stayed as long as we did. I tried to get Steven to leave earlier, but he wanted to see if they go any better. It's a good thing we didn't have to pay for the tickets. I would have been truly pissed. As it was, we had standup, ground floor tickets, so had to sit way up in order to sit. My knees were a mess.
We were going to have a snack at the Pilgrim - their website said they were open until midnight. We got there and they were closed. So, we got home earlier than we thought.
Elysha called and actually got to wish her father a Happy Father's Day. Jimi's going in for another surgery this week, to see if that will help before they fuse his ankle. Elysha sent a picture of his riding mower. Looks like a hot rod. He did the modifications. She also sent pictures of houses near them that she wishes we would move into. Nice looking places.
