We have a new President and Vice-President! President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both sworn in shortly before noon today! A beautiful ceremony, it had songs by Lady Gaga (the National Anthem). Jennifer Lopez (America the Beautiful and This Land) and Garth Brooks (Amazing Grace). It was wonderful coverage by CBSN, until the end- there was a commentator who cut to a poet laureate who "helped" the new one. I cut to other coverage so that I could hear Garth Brooks sing. The commentators talked entirely too much. They should've just let the inauguration speak for itself, which they did, for the most part... Vice President Pence was there and he seemed very nice. Trump did not show up - President, Bush, Clinton, and Obama were all there and President Carter called Biden to wish him well, which Biden mentioned when he mentioned that previous presidents were there, except Carter who could not  (not would not or should not) be there. Trump was not there.
