Last day of the year. No resolutions for the next, I will try to make it to the end of the year, just like this one. I'm staying up- today was one disaster after another. I tried to make a recipe I printed out that involved a crust (I screwed that up by using too much flour) that I threw out while making the filling. Then the filling bowl tipped over and fell on the floor spilling almost all the filling. I only had one can of evaporated milk (which is the reason I picked that recipe), so I tossed it all. I was going to make a full-sized cheesecake but realized I didn't have enough cream cheese. I made some mini cheesecakes, although I fudged the recipe by using crushed graham cracker, a bit of sugar and a pat of butter instead of a vanilla wafer as the crust. I had Steven trying to keep up with how many Tablespoons or teaspoons were in a fraction of a cup. I think the cheesecakes turned out pretty good, but after all the other screw-ups, that was a given. I broke the jar that I use to hold the filters for coffee - at least it all went into the sink. And I left the burner on under 6 eggs to be hard-boiled. Instead, they exploded. Fuck 2021.
I ordered a calendar at Amazon, but it won't get here until the 4t h of January. So, I printed out a January month calendar and clipped it to this year's.
Betty White died - she was three weeks short of her 100th birthday. It's sad that she didn't make it to the next year.
It's been one screwed up day - Steven went to bed saying he has a sore throat and has had it for a couple of days. Today's been like most of this year - trying, but it's not working out. I'm hoping tomorrow will be the start of a good year.
