It's not sunny at all. 

Painter came this morning and did more sanding and spackling. He said I should go with lighter shades. Devin sent me a shot of the countertops.

We went to a tricky tray, sponsored by PAWS, the animal shelter in Montclair. It was exciting. Yellow tickets were $15 a sheet, blue tickets were $25 and the grand prize was $25 for one. We got two of every one. We won 3 baskets and a tablet that I thought was a Windows Surface tablet, but it was just a tablet that had a Windows operating system.  One was a pet basket - for dogs, of course (yellow ticket), one was a couple of mugs, with tea and gift cards to Starbucks and Watchung Books, and one was a kitchen basket (blue ticket) with a cooker. We chatted with some ladies around us - one was an elderly lady who had two dogs. She disappeared after they started calling the numbers. There were two black ladies that cleaned up. We wished them well in the parking lot.

Steve hit his face when he fell out of bed this morning and his eye looks terrible, very red. He's going to have a shiner. If he'd hit any further over, he might have put his eye out.

I drove everywhere. We stopped at the Pilgrim and had some breakfast for dinner. Nobody that was there when he was sick was there, thank goodness. When we got home there were at least 8 packages on the porch. Damn.

It was a nice day overall, other than the porch stuff, which chaps my ass.
