John, Nicky, Joe, and Ali came over today and took most of the furniture - the dressers, the nightstand from Mom's room and the secretary in the living room. I'm not sure what else they took. They took one of the clowns and the firetrucks of Dad's. I'm glad I put the sailor's memorial statue in my suitcase. I think they might have taken that, too.
I forgot I'd put the car keys in my jacket pocket, so I searched the house for them and finally remembered where they were. I took the car and went to Walgreen's to drop off more outdated medications. I got coffee, some candy and tissues. I looked in my purse for the Discover card and couldn't find it, so I used the debit card. Damned if I didn't find the card when I got in the car. I had gotten gas, so I dropped the Discover card on the floor of the car. So I went down Greenwood, looking for the post office. I finally gave up and pulled into the lot of PRP high school. Some guy pulled up next to me and signaled to roll my window down. He told me I'd left the gas cap off. I thanked him profusely, then asked him if he knew where the post office was. He told me it was two driveways down on the right. Thanking him again profusely, I got out and put the gas cap on - with some difficulty. I went to the post office and got through in no time - it cost a little over $22 to send the box- less than another suitcase or additional fees for the one would, as it would've been over 50 pounds. It'll go slower, but it should get there before I do. 🤞 So, after my adventure, I go home. As I'm going down Pendleton, I see John's truck, followed by Joe's. The dressers were strapped into Joe's truck. When I got home, I saw the blank spots. 😢
I'm sad. Not depressed. Just sad.
