Today's first message from Cathy:
Surgeon called. He said her gallbladder was nasty but that they got it out. Before the surgery he did a scope and he said part of her small intestine is dying. He said that she is critically ill but that they would give her blood thinners and antibiotics and would watch her. He said she will be in the hospital for a good week or week and a half. He said there was a chance that they wouldn't be able to turn it around but that he was hopeful. I looked it up online and there is info there. He also said it would be awhile before she will be able to eat. It is from low blood flow to the intestine. After I let her know I would be coming down - I think it will be good for you and your mom. It's good for someone to be there to talk to the Dr's when they come in. I will keep praying that with the additional blood thinners that the colon will get more blood flow and get better💕 we will update you with anything we hear until you get here.
So, I've made a reservation - one way - to get home. No direct flights and I go through Washington DC - not the best time to go through there, but hoping it's calm. Greg will pick me up at the airport and I'll stay with him. I expect I'll have to cleanup and cook for him. I'm going to start packing tonight. I have to go to the library and return my books. I got a thank you note from Precious because I sent her a sympathy card -her mother died the beginning of last month.
The election is getting bad. Biden is ahead and Trump is filing lawsuits to get voting stopped in states where it's possible he'll lose, like Pennsylvania. He already lost Wisconsin and that pissed him off so he's calling for a recount. This is why I'm a little scared of connecting in DC. The world, at least mine, is going to hell in a handbasket.
